What staff augmentation is

Staff augmentation means an engineer joins your team, under your process and your tools, for a defined engagement. You keep the management. The staffing firm is accountable for who shows up and for what was checked before they did.

Calibre is that service. The role spec and the verification procedure are on the site before you specify the role. The rate is quoted from the engagement form for the seniority and model you send.

What you are buying

You are buying a person at a known level.

• The role is published: stack, seniority, experience, and the certifications checked for that role. See Roles.
• The check is primary-source. The credential is confirmed with the issuing body, not copied from a résumé. See Verification.
• The commercial shape is one of three models: embedded, part-time, or a team of three to five with a lead. Bands are on Engagement.
• The record — certifications, background check, references — ships once engagement is underway.

The engineer works inside your team. Quarterly credential re-audit is a published cadence, not a courtesy.

What you are not buying

A project managed by an external vendor team with an opaque roadmap is not staff augmentation. Calibre places senior engineers who work inside your tools, attend your standups, commit to your repositories, and report directly to your engineering managers.

Staff augmentation here is also not limited to one industry. A finance and fintech page exists for banks, payments, and fintech, because those buyers have a compliance frame worth publishing. It is a sector page. It is not the service.

How an engagement starts

1. You specify company, stack, seniority, start date, and model.
2. Calibre matches from the roster against the certifications that role requires, and replies, typically within 48 hours.
3. Once engagement is underway, you receive the verification record. The credential check and the background check are already complete before an engineer is eligible for the roster.
4. The engineer embeds. Credentials are re-checked each quarter.

The rate is quoted for the seniority and model you send. The exact quote follows the role you specify.
