How a verification record is produced

A verification record is one sheet. It covers certifications checked at the issuing body, background-check status, and references on file. It is the output of a procedure, not a paragraph in a proposal.

You receive it once engagement is underway. That timing is published. It is not moved earlier or later to close a deal.

The four steps

  1. Specify. You define stack, seniority, start date, and engagement model. The role pages are the published criteria. If your stack is not listed, you still specify it.
  2. Match. Calibre selects engineers whose verified certifications meet that criteria, and replies, typically within 48 hours. A certification on a résumé is not accepted as the check. The credential check, the background check, and the references are already complete before roster eligibility.
  3. Record. Once engagement is underway, you receive the sheet: certifications, background check, and references. A redacted sample is on the Calibre page. It is labeled illustrative. It is not an issued record.
  4. Embed. The engineer joins your team under your process. Credentials are re-audited quarterly.

The verification protocol underneath the match — credential capture, the primary-source check, background and references, and the quarterly review — is written out on Verification.

What primary-source means

The issuing body is the source. A PDF the candidate uploaded is not the source. A line on LinkedIn is not the source. The role spec names which codes are in scope. A code that is not on the spec is not part of the match, and a code that is on the spec is part of the match.

Background checks are completed before roster eligibility: a criminal background check and employment verification. Two references are required on file. That policy is on Security. It runs before the engineer is eligible, not once per placement as a fresh negotiation.

What the record is not

It is not a testimonial. Placement records elsewhere on the site are anonymized datasheets: client type, role, certifications verified, outcome. They are not quotes. The record for your engagement is the sheet for that engineer, produced by the steps above.

It is also not an industry certificate. Finance buyers can read the finance sector page for PCI, SOC 2, SOX, and GLBA framing. The verification record itself is the same object for every role.

FAQ

How does developer verification work at Calibre?

You specify the role. The firm matches engineers whose certifications were checked at the issuing body. You receive the verification record once engagement is underway. The engineer then joins your team.

Can I see a sample?

A redacted sample record is on the Calibre page. The caption says it is illustrative and not an issued record.

Does the record include the rate?

No. Rates are on [Engagement](/calibre/engagement). The record is credentials, background-check status, and references.
