A backend engineer on a fintech ledger isn't the same hire as a backend engineer on a marketing site. The stack looks similar — Go, Java, Postgres, Kafka — but the failure modes are different: a double-entry error doesn't just break a page, it breaks a balance.

What the role actually needs to check

Reconciliation-ready design, idempotent money-movement paths, and cardholder data handled in PCI scope only when required. None of that shows up on a résumé.

Stack Certifications Seniority
Go · Java · Postgres · Kafka PCI-DSS · PCI-ISA · AWS-SEC · OCP-JAVA Senior · 6+ yrs

An unverified engineer on a ledger system is a compliance risk, not a hiring convenience.

Where verification timing matters

Most staffing vendors disclose certifications after you've already signed. calibre° publishes the verification record once engagement is underway — a published standard, not a per-deal negotiation. Here's the procedure that runs before an engineer ever reaches your team:

  1. Specify — you define stack, seniority, start date, engagement model.
  2. Match — we select engineers whose verified certifications meet the role's criteria.
  3. Record — you receive the verification record once engagement starts.
  4. Embed — the engineer joins your team. Calibration is reviewed quarterly.

None of that is a sales process dressed up in steps — it's the same four-stage calibration every engineer on the roster runs through, backend or otherwise.

Confidence should come from what you can check, not from what you're told.

Specify the role. We calibrate the match.
